Pimp That Snack

Nutri-Giant

"Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Bars are a great on-the-go breakfast solution or anytime snack." proclaims the Nutri-Grain website proudly. For this pimp, we wanted to prove them wrong by creating a completely unportable meal of a bar. And that’s just what we did.

Ingredients on a worktop: self-raising flour, dark brown sugar, oats, fruit spread and two tubs of spread

Ingreedyents

250g Self-Raising Flour
100g Soft Brown Sugar
250g Margerine
Jam
Oats
And a sprinkling of love

Step 1

Throw sugar and margerine at maximum velocity into the mixing bowl. Bash it up with a wooden spoon until your arm hurts or the mixture becomes light and fluffy. Sift in the flour while continuing to mix.

Step 2

Slob half the mixture onto a baking tray and bash into a roughly Nutri-Grain shape. Glob on a delightfully healthy chunk of jam. Blob the other half of the mix onto a seperate baking tray and bash into a roughly Nutri-Grain shape. Lob the two halves together. Almost poetic, isn’t it?

Step 3

Sprinkle on some oats and wham the whole mess into the oven on gas mark 5 for 30 minutes on the middle shelf.

A thick stripe of red fruit filling spooned down the centre of the dough rectangle

Step 4

Amazingly, the result is one gangsta of a Nutri-Giant. A high-calorie pimp that’s certainly not for on the go! Enough breakfast to feed a small country for a week. And the taste? Nutri-licious!
