What the original account establishes

These notes distinguish the recorded result from quantities or settings the contributor did not specify. Follow each source link to the original passage.

  • Made by 2 pimp addicts with 300g plain flour, 225g cheese, 225g margarine and 3 egg yolks. The cheese was grated and everything mixed together, which did not look attractive but smelt OK. The dough was made into a slightly oval circle and all the dots were marked out. It went into the oven, with no setting or time given, and when it was not brown enough the top was egg-washed by hand partway through. The makers call it not their best effort. The original account

What do you need?

2 pimp addicts (to snacking only) females
300g plain flour
225g cheese
225g margarine
3 egg yolks

Ingredients on a sunlit counter: Asda mild white cheese, flour, margarine tub and three eggs

Grate the cheese (but not your nails or fingers).

Cheese being grated on a box grater over a chopping board, eggs and margarine nearby

Mix all the ingredients together, it does not look attractive, but smells ok.

Flour, grated cheese and margarine worked together with a wooden spoon in a glass bowl

Make a slightly ovalish circle, and mark out exactly all the dots – (technical term for holes!)

A knife trimming the huge dimpled round of raw dough, a normal cracker held alongside

Then put in the oven, panic it is not brown enough, so burn hands egg washing the top (OK, put some beaten (mixed) egg on the top with your fingers).

The baked giant cheese biscuit on parchment with a normal-sized cracker beside it

OK, not our best effort, but worth a laugh or two!
