Pimp That Snack

Another Party Ring

have been wanting to do this for aaaaaages! Probably cost me under £10

1) basic biscuit recipe…but with 3 x the ingredients

i used
2cups of self-raising flour
2cups of plain flour
200g of butter
1cup of sugar
2 eggs
little bit of milk
some vanilla essence

Sugar, self-raising and plain flour, milk, an egg, spread and vanilla essence on the kitchen counter

2) mix the butter and sugar, then add eggs

Electric hand mixer creaming pale yellow butter and sugar in a large white bowl

3) add flour to make a dough

Stiff pale biscuit dough gathered in the white mixing bowl, tub of spread behind

4) halve the dough and put it on a floured surface and roll one half out to makke one half of the ring, then do the same with the other half

Ball of biscuit dough resting on a heavily floured worktop

5) put the two halves together (cos i didnt have enough space to do it with just one long bit)

Dough rolled out flat and cut into a wide crescent, half of the ring

6) i wanted to cook it all as one big ring but my oven wasnt big enough, so then i had the joy of cutting it into 3rds and baking them seperately (for about 30min at 180 degrees) and trying to make one big ring out of the 3 bits

Three crescent sections of raw dough on parchment-lined baking trays, ready for the oven

7) it didnt help that i dropped one of the bits so it wouldnt fit properly

8)anyway….make a heck of a lot of icing and make it quite thick because if not it just runs of the side which is no fun (make sure its cooled first)

Baked biscuit crescents fitted together into a ring on the hob, gaps at the joins

9) get a second coloured icing and make stripes 😀

Yellow icing poured over the biscuit ring with red lines piped across it

then feather the stripes by dragging a knife down them in the oppisite direction

A child in a floral apron drags a knife through the red stripes to feather them

then eat with a cuppa *nom**nom

The finished giant party ring, yellow icing feathered with red, sitting on the glass hob
