    Presenter: Now, there's a new website taking the internet by storm. To tell us all about PimpMySnack.com is the man they call Pimp Daddy, but his real name's actually Pete.

    Presenter: Hi Pete, how are you?

    Pete Wilcock: I'm fine, thanks.

    Presenter: Hi Pete. Here he is.

    Presenter: Pete, first of all, tell us exactly how the site works.

    Pete Wilcock: Well, basically, a load of random people on the internet send in their pimped up version of their favourite snacks.

    Pete Wilcock: I stick them online and everyone votes for them, see which one's the best.

    Presenter: Okay. Now, Pete, how old are you?

    Pete Wilcock: I'm 23.

    Presenter: Do you live at home?

    Pete Wilcock: Well, I live at my home, not my parents' home.

    Presenter: Oh, I was going to say, I had visions of your mum coming back from the shops and...

    Presenter: You're not making a gigantic wagon wheel again, are you?

    Pete Wilcock: No, thankfully not.

    Presenter: So, when you say, like, pimped up version of snacks, what exactly do you mean by that for people who haven't seen the site?

    Pete Wilcock: Well, quite a few people take pimped up to mean, you know, enlargement, so most of the snacks are just bigger versions of the classics, but for other people, pimped also means just changing it and making it better and adding something a bit different to what you'd normally expect.

    Presenter: Whose idea was this?

    Pete Wilcock: It was a kind of, it was a strange kind of thing that came about on the internet where I just, I got a chunky KitKat peanut butter and I just took their peanut butter out and put in my own peanut butter just to see how it would taste.

    Pete Wilcock: I put this online and there was a good reaction to it and somebody else actually suggested that I put it onto a website.

    Pete Wilcock: And so I did, and the same guy that suggested it then sent me the first pimp, which was the massive KitKat, and from there everyone passed the website address around and around and around and around to the point where, you know, there's now thousands of people visiting a day and

    Pete Wilcock: I'm being completely overwhelmed by new pimps.

    Presenter: So how long has that actually been running then?

  24. 01:44

    Pete Wilcock: It actually got started on the 3rd of April, so it's not even a month.

    Presenter: And most people are talking about it, yeah.

    Presenter: You should, you should, you should do a TV show, I think it's a fantastic, you should pitch it as a TV show.

    Presenter: You could get, like, Tim Westwood to do, like, a snack version of the, the MTV one.

    Presenter: I think it'd be brilliant.

    Presenter: Or, like, something like the guys from Jackass doing this sort of stuff would just be hilarious, I think.

    Presenter: How, how is the website actually funded then, Pete?

    Presenter: Are you paying for this, or?

    Pete Wilcock: I currently am paying for it myself.

    Pete Wilcock: It's quite lucky, really, because on the side I actually host websites myself, so I've actually got my own server to host this.

    Pete Wilcock: Right. Which is kind of lucky, because if I hadn't, it would have probably completely overloaded anywhere else.

    Pete Wilcock: I could have put it. So, yeah, at the minute, it's all by myself, and it's just about stayed online now.

    Pete Wilcock: I've had to make a couple of upgrades just to make sure it stays running.

    Presenter: Talk us through some of your favourites, some of the best snacks on your site.

    Pete Wilcock: There are some pretty good ones.

    Pete Wilcock: We've actually got a league table of the top ten, and the number one on the league table now is the Monster Jammie Dodger, which is currently rated about 9.4 out of 10, and it's a really good, really impressive effort.

    Pete Wilcock: It's a really realistic enlargement of the original, real care and attention, you know.

    Pete Wilcock: So that's definitely got to be one of my favourites.

    Presenter: How big is it?

    Pete Wilcock: I think they say it was about 30 centimetres across.

    Presenter: You know, you couldn't get a cup of tea large enough for it, I think.

    Presenter: We were in a right laugh this morning, because my favourite one at the moment is the Curly Wurly.

    Presenter: It is massive! And this guy had drawn it all out and [wording unclear] and everything, hadn't he?

    Presenter: He was great. That's insane. I've got to say, I like the Burberry Curly Wurly better than the original.

    Presenter: Have you seen that one? No, I haven't seen it.

    Presenter: I have, no. The wagon wheel's good, I must admit, that's just genius as well.

    Pete Wilcock: That was second in the table.

    Pete Wilcock: But I'm actually pretty keen on the Bourbon.

    Pete Wilcock: I think, I really like Bourbon, that really huge one.

    Presenter: I love some of the names of them as well, because there's a massive penguin biscuit on there, and they called it Emperor Penguin.

    Presenter: It's very clever. Who are these people that do this, Pete?

    Presenter: Who are they, or why do they do it?

    Presenter: No, who are they?

    Pete Wilcock: Well, they're random people.

    Pete Wilcock: I don't know at all. I mean, they've literally just come across to the site, realised they can do their own, and it just seems to be this kind of thing where, you know, almost the whole family or all your mates can get in on it.

    Pete Wilcock: So, a lot of the time, I get sent the pimps from, like, a group of people who have spent the whole weekend on the whole thing.

    Presenter: You've actually, you've got a forum on the site as well for the pimpers to chat.

    Presenter: What sort of freaky correspondence have you been getting on that?

    Pete Wilcock: Well, there's just lots.

    Pete Wilcock: I mean, there's been suggestions for new pimps, you know, crazy things.

    Pete Wilcock: Some people are trying to work out the logistics of how to pimp a huge jelly baby to realistic proportions, and there's been an awful lot of talk about how the jelly might not be able to stay upright, and, you know, how to properly use the gelatin, and all kinds of things like that.

    Pete Wilcock: Well, the people are discussing all kinds of snacks, and, you know, where they can buy them, and how rare they are, and which ones would make good pimps, you know.

    Presenter: Yeah. Crazy. Do you have any merchandise yet, Pete?

    Pete Wilcock: We don't. What we do have, we're planning to throw some T-shirts out there, but what we've got at the minute is a T-shirt survey with a few designs, so if you can go along and vote for your favourite, the most popular ones at the end of the survey will, other ones, they're the ones

    Presenter: Excellent. Brilliant. Have you thought about trying to get some advertising on this site to keep it going, then?

    Pete Wilcock: There are a few, there's a couple of discreet Google ads there, which if you click on will make me a few pennies, but I haven't really thought greatly about massive marketing campaigns just yet.

    Pete Wilcock: I'm kind of waiting to see how it performs over the next couple of months, because everyone might be bored of it by next week.
