If you've just had a temporary crown put on, don't eat curry.
So I went to the dentist yesterday to have my tooth drilled down to a tiny nub in preparation for its new crown.
Two injections, a lot of drilling and a lot of suction later, my dentist put the tooth-coloured temporary crown on and off I went.
Couple of hours later, when I had some sensation back in my mouth, I decided to cook dinner. Being a busy lady, it was a readymeal - a nice "healthily balanced" curry from Marks and Spencers.
Slapped it in the other, then 12 minutes later it was ready to go.
Tasted not too bad until I crunched on something really perfumy tasting. Spat it out and then found another. Cardomom pods.
OK, so I figured out I don't like those and left them on the edge of the plate.
Then off to the bathroom to floss. Opened my mouth to insert said floss and OH DEAR GOD MY TOOTH IS GREEN! Not just green, but a sickly dayglo lime colour.
Several drinks and a good few swills of mouthwash later, it's still green.
I'm thankful that a) it's an upper molar and thus difficult to see, and b) coming out in two weeks when my bling bling pimp daddy gold crown is ready.
Moral of the story? Don't eat curry with a temporary crown. You've been warned!
Nooo! Actually I only have a film camera (not even a mobile phone!) - not sure it'd come out that well in a photo anyway...but there you go.
I bet my dentist will find it very amusing, though... *frowns*
