Boys!

blueeyes Fri Aug 04, 2006 7:54 pm #1 Being completely unused to being chatted up (being, shall we say, not wonderfully attractive) I'm sure I'm complaining about something most girls experience on a regular basis but, as you can tell, I was born to rant and that is what I am doing.
I was out for my usual hour long walk this evening and a lad (foreign it turned out) decided to acost me. I said I didn't really want to talk (unusual for me but said very nicely) but he proceded to anyway. He asked my name, age and where I lived. I answered sparingly and continually glancing around as though trying to find a neon sign marked 'exit'. He started explaining that he wanted to be a lawyer 'do you like lawyers?' he asks.
Now there's a loaded question!
He later askes to accompany me on my walk (meep, my daydreaming time taken away... I quickly answer:) '<laughs> no thanks, I like walking alone'
To cut a long story... ok, still long but not as much as it could be, he tried to get my number and in order to escape I had to say 'I'll probably see you around'.
The unfortunate thing is that he lives right on my favourite walking route and so I probably will! (Any advice here would be appreicated, but is not compulsory)
Anyway! I needed to rant about that and now feel much better. I have to admit I do like the way with girls the subtlest look can warn them off - with boys it's breeze blocks on the noggin all the way!
Clearly I'm more of a catch than I thought I was (hah!) -
aledrob Fri Aug 04, 2006 8:25 pm #2 Pepper Spray may be an idea?
Ask him if he's been on the pimp that snack website, if he hasn't you gotta know he's dodgy. If he has then who knows....... -

Anna-na-na-na Fri Aug 04, 2006 8:47 pm #4 Eerrrmmm.. that sounds like a bit of a bugger... I don't get a lot of the chat up attention myself but maybe you just need to be really blunt with this guy and say that you're flattered (a little lie...) but just not interested, and if he STILL doesn't get the point, casually mention your boyfriend who's currently on leave from the army..? -
Himji Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:00 pm #5 You see you women always get it wrong.
Next time you see him, just say in as deeper voice you can
"I'd love to see more of you but you need to wait till I've had all my operations"
He'll be running for the hills

tedmus Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:35 pm #7 Take a hammer next time you go for a walk.
Ask mithering bloke "would you like to see my hammer up close?"
If no then carry on merrily on your walk.
If yes then give him a "playful" (i.e vicious and possibly fatal) bonk on the head. [Very Happy] -
blueeyes Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:41 pm #8 hee hee
I do so like the male solutions to problems
The viciousness sounds far more female, however. -

I vote this one. I don't listen to Radio 1 much but I heard this upon tuning in the other day to listen to some modern tunes and was in stitches. Some guy just said, 'Your b00bs looked great last night'. I mean, who would actually say that whilst sober to someone they'd only met once?!!
