I just wanted to stick up a post, firstly saying a huge thanks to pimpdaddy and secondly explaining why the above banner has suddenly become plastered everywhere.
If you take a peek at the site, I am the blonde one in the somewhat more suggestive T-shirt. Myself and my friend set up the campaign as I am waiting for a double lung transplant. Statistics in the UK are quite grim at present and due to the shortage of donors 50% of people like myself will die waiting.
I have been waiting 15 months now (suitcase by the door and everything, my friend said "ooh it's like being pregant except you come home with new lungs not a new baby" which I found somewhat amusing!) and have not even had a false alarm. July brings National Transplant Week (9 - 15) and we are doing everything in our power to draw peoples attention to the problem.
So really this post is just an explanation of its relevance and to say from my heart, please take a look at the site. 90% of people support organ donation, but only 22% are actually registered. Worse than that, 40% of next of kin refuse consent, and that includes overriding the wishes of those who wished to be donors.
I'd never want to change anyones opinion on becoming a donor, that is not what this campaign is about, but if you are one of the people that has always meant to get round to registering, just never has, please please do it now.

I am Emily's friend who has set up the Live Life Then Give Life Campaign with her. I am desperate to raise awareness of the situation that Emily and many of my other friends are in (we all have the same illness). Basically if you imagine lying flat in bed with an oxygen mask pumping out on maximum, hardly able to breathe and with severe pain in your lungs, whilst knowing there is a 50% chance that you won't be here in a few months....well that's what life is like for Emily most of the time right now.
We're both very positive people so we're determined not to sit around and do nothing. So we've launched the campaign so that people can learn a bit more about why organ donation is important, and then if they want to ask questions or to register themselves to be donors after their deaths, we can help them with that. Oh and in between we have fun pimping snacks of course! Hopefully our pimped PINK sugar mouse will on view soon [Shocked]

Yeah having some black T's would be nice but unfortunately when we looked at the colour issue we were limited to white so that the logo shows up (as its blue and red). I could offer to colour around the logo with a black marker pen for you but I'm not sure it would be quite the look you are aiming for! [Wink]

Just to let you know, the other site you were looking at (if it is the one on my signature) is my other current project; I am doing the hydroactive women's challenge in september in my wheelchair and hoping to walk as far as I can for the final stretch. The money from that one is going to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust (CF is the disease Emmie and I have that causes our lungs to behave like petulant children). I like to confuse people by having multiple projects on the go

Ive always told my family that i want to be a donar but i actually signed the register today, and when i get paid this month i'll definately buy a t-shirt. This is a great cause and unless its against your religion i dont see why anyone wouldnt want to donate - you dont need your organs once you've gone so why not give the gift of life to someone else?
