Doughnut makers

I am getting very addicted to doughnuts recently... Particularly the pack of 5 for 58p custard filled doughnuts from Tesco. Very addicted...

I thought to myself - how can I get my doughnut fix if I happen to be ill & house ridden?! Well, the second thought that came into my head was to buy a doughnut maker! I wouldn't want to be deprived of my precious doughnuts...

I searched using Google and a few things came up but I thought I'd make a message on here asking for people's opinion on any doughnut makers (if they have any [Smile] ).

I saw a couple in various online stores costing ~£10-25 which makes 6-7 doughnuts. I thought I'd ask here before I commit to a temporary addiction purchase! I realise they wont be jam or chocolate or custard filled but I can quite easily sprinkle sugar, chocolate and any other fancies on top [Smile] And I'd like to think the product will last a few years and I'd get good use out of it for parties and such (or just my lunch every day [Razz] ).

save your cash and find a shop that sells crispy cremes for once one of the amazing donuts has passed your lips you know that no other donut will ever do. they are available in a few places in london and there about £8 for 12 but i would sell my first born for a box. amazing.

I'll take that advice on board and try to find some [Smile]

I wouldn't want to settle for homemade baked doughtnuts when I could be having professionally deep fried wonder doughtnuts

As for fillings Tricky, how do you think they normally do it? Buy a baking syringe, fill it with jam, and give that bad boy 10cc's of the red stuff!

I honestly had no idea how they did it besides the general suspicions of a syringe, based on the little hole that can be found on the side of most fille doughnuts.
It could have been little worker ants carrying their share of custard drops into the middle of a baking hot doughnut... Or the makers made the two separate halves of a doughnut, someone would take a bite out of one for the hole to be filled with jam and someone spooned it in from a jar. Or MAYBE they just use a syringe like you said.
