Pimp That Snack

what spice shall i splice?

  1. pesky Wed Jan 17, 2007 11:37 am #1
as i'm currently obsessed with mash-ups (ie tracks which splice two different songs) i thought i might do a sort of mash-up remix of two chocolate bars since i haven't done a pimp for a while

which two choc bars should i splice?

two most voted for bars get spliced next week (sometime...)

p.s. if anyone wants a good mash-up track, you can't beat party ben at http://www.partyben.com

p.p.s if anyone doesn't get the 'spice' reference, that's what they call sweets here in yorkshire

I reckon a kit kat with a fruit pastille, cos then it would be a fruity kit kat.................not that i like kit kats!

i'm kind of gunning myself for topic and fruit pastille, but i can't wait to see what gets the most votes

I have voted! Here are my views on the subject, in no particular order:
    • I never knew they called sweets 'spice'. Thanks for the little bit of knowledge!
    • I cannot see how you can splice together a relatively small sweet and a chocolate bar, unless you intend to just shove mutliple fruit pastilles in wherever they fit.
    • Based on the point above, I would recommend splicing and dicing two similar sized confectionaries.
    • My suggestion : mars bar + bounty - they're of similar size and shape, same outer coating but completely different interiors!

I think that covers most of what went through my mind when I saw your message post [Smile] Good luck with the splicings of the spicings!

well, what i'm thinking is, for example, using fruit pastilles instead of hazelnuts in a topic (and making it bigger naturally), that sort of thing. i'm not really thinking of a 'cut and shut' job, more like melding the two sweets to make something even better as in b*stard pop (if you don't know what i'm on about, then i'd suggest the party ben link above)

having said that, a mars bar with coconut for example would be a good idea

Some of them already exist - like if you combined a topic and a mars bar, surely thats a snickers??!!

I understand now. Thanks for clearing it up !
Good luck with your task [Smile]

I like the idea of fruit pastilles in with a topic now - I can't wait to see what you end up doing.

i'm planning to do this next week sometime now - our cat had to be put down this week, so i didn't have a chance to do it. bless him

so if you ant to carry on voting, i'd like to see a more clear winner anyway

oh, thats bad news....maybe a cat shaped tribute is in order??!!

My sister has had a clever idea - a double decker and a kit kat, apparently a double decker only has biscuit in it and adding the wafer from the kit kat would add a new dimension....i think she may have a point, the more i think about it the more i like it!

right!! i;m buying white chocolate, wafers (kit kat), mars bars and fruit pastilles. ian has told me to ignore the topic as he thinks it'll be too much

this is up now. i'm disheartened to see people voting it as 'not even a pimp dammit' [Sad]

that sounded like a sulk - what i meant was, it clearly is a pimp, whether you think it's any good or not. not all pimps have to be big versions of other things, right?
  27. em'n'mz Sat Jun 09, 2007 6:05 pm #27
    well i liked it
  28. king pimp III Sat Jun 09, 2007 6:54 pm #28
