5. Piped lettering and blobs complete the picture before being put into the oven, while we waited with baited breath to see if the decorations melted into the whole thing. Fighting for ringside seats in front of the oven door.
6. In the meantime, philly was whipped up with a big ol’ box of icing sugar and a few drops of vanilla essence to make a crème filling to die for. And you certainly would if you were diabetic, which we’re not. Resultant whiter than white OW!! IT HURTS MY EYES! vanilla crème was spread over the base.
7. Happily the top cookie wasn’t burned and didn’t smoodge together during the baking process, but it was still a nerve-wracking process to get it out of the tin, and on top of the base without spoiling or breaking!
8. et Voila! ….. with its trusty companion, vase of milk a la Phoenix Nights! ….
Finally, the obligatory cross section shot. Sadly, the kids ate the mini Oreos, so we just have the regular sized Oreo for the comparison shots.
