    Unfortunately most of them are just spambots that do their own thing. I've had trouble stopping them with our install of phpbb.

    I installed these mods:

    Base phpBB version 2.0.21
    mxBB Portal version 2.7.7
    IP registration mod
    Link/Sig Anti Spam
    Confusabot
    User Shield Version 1.2.1

    listed here. They have reduced the amount getting through but not stopped it completely.

    i don't understand why people would spam on this nsite anyway
    i don't know what sort of point they are trying to make.

    They're not making any point. They're largely just automated spammers going after anything running phpbb.
