Im new here and have been checking out the site, does anyone know a uk store that stocks fluff marshmallow or a suitable subsitute, would melting marshmallows in the microwave give me a similar product
When we made the Jammie Wagon Wheel SXi, we melted the marshmallows in the microwave. It was really good actually (although it cools down and gets quite sticky very quickly).

I have heard of marshmallow fluff but I have never actually seen it.
Judging by the pictures I can see on CyberCandy / Google it looks like liquid marshmallows - I was picturing something more like candy floss tbh (the stuff you can get at fair grounds and comes on a stick. more fluff-like than this marshmallow fluff).
But this liquidy stuff looks like I could eat a whole jar without putting it down - it looks incredibly sweet.
Yes, I thought it would be a bit more...er...fluffy. [Laughing] However, I am willing to venture into the unknown in the name of expanding my waistline.
Why you can buy it from good ol' Sainsburys! If you check out the photos on my Liquorice Allsort pimp (not the fantabulous one, one of the older attempts where we fought a lengthy battle with the satanic substance that is Liquorice you can see two tubs of Marshmallow fluff in the background, purchased purely because, well, it's great.
Sainsbury's stocks it?! Wish i'd known that beforehand. As PD noted, I got it from the vastly overpriced Selfridges in Manchester, which also stocked the flavoured versions (I will have to go and try raspberry some time...).
Melting marshmallows would give you a similar tasting product - and it's all about the taste, after all - but I'm led to believe (and the teacake will attest!) that Fluff is quite a bit denser/heavier than melted marshmallows for some reason. Probably vast amounts of added sugar or something.
[Edit: Funnily enough - having finally got around to watching the F Word clip - typically it was the only episode we missed in the series - I was thinking just this morning about a better name for our pimp to make it fit more with all the clever names everyone else uses. And I must say I'm feeling quite smug about the outcome - can anyone come up with a better suggestion than Ten-Tunnock Teacake? [Very Happy] ]
