    Yes indeed, we've already discussed getting people to send in action-shots of their Ts, with the best pics featuring on the actual shop page [Smile]

    SCRATCH EVERYTHING I'VE SAID.

    Due to a letter I have received this morning, I am halting the production of the t-shirts for the time being.

    Suffice to say, I've been threatened with legal action, and need to take advice before doing or saying anything else.

    yup, copyright. but then if it is mtv, pimp daddys probably not allowed to say anything because of 'legal reasons'

    To quell a bit of the suspicion, I can say that I've received a legal notice from Viacom International Inc. who own MTV and hence Pimp My Ride.

    Basically their beef is that they have two registrations for trademarks (which, incidentally are not fully registered) for 'Pimp My Ride' and 'Pimp My'.

    As such they think I'm in breach of trademark, which is utterly ridiculous. I'm taking legal advice but quite frankly 'Pimp My' is too much of a generic term and is akin to 'Buy My' or 'Sell My' or some other combination of words anyone could use in a reasonable context.

    So, at the moment I'm holding off production of the t-shirts until it is resolved. Meanwhile the website will continue to run as normal.
