We could go on forever suggesting ideas, but if there aren't any ideas to go by we could keep hitting the wrong spot every time.
Helps us help you! [Very Happy]
Here's an idea: Since it's her birthday, you could try making a giant fondant fancy but ice it in such a way that it looks like a present with a ribbon & bow and such. -
Kail Fri Sep 28, 2007 11:35 pm #3 i really like the idea of the giant fondant fancy iced in the design of a bday cake
For the fondant fancy i know the ingredients required from the previous pimp at http://www.pimpthatsnack.com/project.php?projectID=82&pageID=3
But since it's been such a long time since ive made a cake or even iced one i dont recall the orders of which to add the ingredients and the quantities, also the only way I can think of doing the bow on top of the cake would be by u sing an icing bag, is there another way?
also just to say I'd be using alot of other ingredients to replace the eggs required in the recipe, but ive used the egg replacements ingredients before and that turned out fine so i know they should work moderately well, but thanks for the ide's and just need a little more help now [Smile] -

For the bow, you could try rice paper (that edible, paper-looking stuff you sometimes find on the bottom of macaroons). You could perhaps cut a strip of it and fold it so it looks like a bow on top.
The only problem is, I don't know what colours rice paper comes in. I've only ever seen white... -
