hey everyone,
just searching for some ideas as me and my boyfriend should be making a giant gingerbread scene kid/emo inspired by the gingerbread chav.
just wondering, on the gingerbread chavs trousers and top, how do you do the icing for it and how do you get it to stick and make it so straight?
hope someone can help!
have a good day. [Very Happy]
Well, technically you could get that pre-made icing stuff and just dye it with food colouring. Then you can use home made icing, the liquidy stuff, to make it stick. Dunno if it'd work but you could try.
hmmm. im not sure.
ill do some research and see whats best, if anyone can get hold of the person who made it, Jane L something i think it is, then please tell her to reply to this so that i can talk to her about which option is best.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner - sitting at the PC for too long is getting uncomfortable as I'm now almost 6 months pregnant so I don't get to spend hours on here anymore [Crying or Very sad] . The chav's clothes etc were made using ready made "ready to roll" icing. One thing to remember is that you needs lots of icing sugar to roll it out in or it sticks like a sticky thing to the work surface. I attached it to him using regular old icing (icing sugar and water).
[edited to add] I coloured it using normal food colouring - the best way I've found to do that was to roll the icing out drip a little colour on and then spread the colour out and roll up the icing before trying to knead it in - otherwise you end up with lovely technicolour hands for weeks afterwards
hey yeah thats great!
hope the pregnancy goes well =]
we havent started amking it yet, just trying to get all the ingredients and things sorted first then we should be making it =]
thanks for all your help!

that's a great idea. i hope he'll have a huge great side sweep fringe.
he/she most certainly will!
were very busy this weekend [watching a show in london then getting hammered at a party the same night] so if we dont do it this weekend due to severe hangovers then well do it the next time im at the boyfriends house!

sorry to say guys but the gingerbread chav wasnt made this weekend due to a very bad hangover lol.
he/she will either be made in 2 weeks time, or well be making a giant victoria sponge cake.

- gingerbread scene kid hehe.
getting confused with the chav.
i think...whats probably best...
is to make a giant victoria sponge cake.
the gingerbread chav is proving to be alot of work so i think a sponge cake will be made.
now to talk to the boyfriend...hehe!

the victoria sponge cake is set to be made in our half term which is in about a week - 2 weeks i think.
well be making it then and the gingerbread scene kid looks like it will also be made for a slightly harder pimp.
looking forward to the victoria sponge cake, last time we made one it was so spongy!
